When I was younger, I was called a dreamer because I always tried to see the good in people. My high school friends used to call me 'the dreamer,' and they often told me, life is not as easy as you make it out to be. Since becoming a follower of Jesus my Savior, I realized that He was preparing me all along. Having a dreamer's mindset serves as a powerful, creative, and motivating force in life. It gives you the strength and encouragement to help others. This perspective has truly helped me in both my personal and professional life.
The first time I left my home in New Jersey to do missionary work in Ecuador is when I realized that all aspects of your life come with a purpose. I was able to adjust to a society different than ours and help people who previously looked at life through a negative lens.
Helping others to resolve life's issues with a smile is not just about being a dreamer; it is about the faith and strength that only our Lord Jesus can provide. The people I went to help in Ecuador learned to rely more on God. Worrying takes away the strength from the spirit that God has given us. Instead, I learned to take bad situations and make them into opportunities.
